New Exhibition This April! Join us for Ata Ire – The Fire That Brings Good Fortune, a captivating photography exhibition by Abayomi Shogbade. This exhibition explores the rich heritage of the Yoruba people, highlighting themes of strength, identity, and resilience through powerful imagery.
The opening night will take place on April 4th from 6pm to 9pm, and the exhibition will run throughout April 2025.
Through striking portraits, Ata Ire celebrates dark skin, African hairstyles, and the cultural symbolism of ata (pepper). The exhibition emphasises the importance of preserving tradition and identity.
About the Artist:
Abayomi Shogbade is a Nigerian photographer and visual artist based in Swansea, UK. His work is deeply influenced by African mythology, heritage, and identity. He has exhibited internationally at venues such as Madeke Gallery, Cipriarte Venezia Gallery, Andalukova Gallery, and The Holy Art Gallery.
