Astronomy at the Beach - Michigan's largest FREE astronomy event! Our 28th year! This year, the event will be held at Maybury State Park.

How to Make a Comet – Michigan Science Center
Tour of the Night Sky on the telescope field,
Learn about astronomy, space science and imaging technology. The various live shows will be interactive, allowing your viewers to ask questions and participate in the discussion. Shows and talks start at 7:00 PM.
Educators often give extra credit to students attending our in-person event!
Live telescope viewing starts at 4:00 PM with solar observing, then picks back up again at 8:00 PM and and goes till midnight with many telescopes on the field for you to use.
See sunspots, prominences, Saturn’s spectacular rings, Jupiter and its moons, stars birthing and dying, and maybe even another galaxy!
Parking: MI license plate “recreation passport” required (or get one at the gate for $17)
If cloudy/rainy, the show will still go on in the presentation tent, and there will still be a display of space images, plus local astronomy club tables
