Once home to one of America's rowdiest bars, the House of Lords, and rough and tough miners looking to strike big, Joplin's history is as rich as the ground it's built on. If you have what it takes to separate fact from fiction and uncover hidden details, this scavenger hunt in Joplin is for you. Your scavenger hunt starts at Joplin's northern entrance, where a large mural welcomes you in. Decipher past, present, and future, and enjoy your first taste of the city's arty side before continuing to one of Joplin's most recent art pieces. Created to celebrate talented musicians who've lived in Joplin, you'll no doubt be impressed by the underground talent that prospered during harsh times. As you walk down Main Street, admire century-old buildings, and soon you'll arrive at a peaceful park dedicated to the father of local legend George A. Spiva.
Your scavenger hunt in Joplin ends at the iconic mural dedicated to all things Route 66. Capture a photo with a classic 1964 red corvette and celebrate the historic Main Street of America, still winding through Joplin today. There's lots to discover, so don't linger a moment longer.
