About this Event

The Association Of Child Death Review Professionals (ACDRP) would like to invite you to join them for one or both days of their two day conference in Birmingham on the 20th and 21st of November 2025.

The conference will provide a variety of workshops and keynote talks covering aspects of Joint Agency Response (JAR), Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood (SUDIC), Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) and Child Death Review (CDR) meetings.

The committee are working to finalise the agenda, confirmed topics so far include:

Day 1 (Thursday 20th November)

Keynotes:

  • Joint working - Coroner's & CDR Team working together
  • JAR for Death from Trauma
  • NCMD - Guidance on Consanguinity

Workshops:

  • Raising awareness in Neonatal HSV
  • Investigating Child Suicide - Police Case Review
  • Learning from Patient Safety & Improving Care - Mortality Review
  • Understanding Sleeping Arrangements in Babies
  • Pathology & Clinical Correlation
  • How hospices can support bereaved families after SUDI

Day 2 (Friday 21st November)

Keynotes:

  • Donna Ockenden: 'Do we really listen to families & implement change'
  • Prof. Peter Fleming: Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC)
  • Learning from Child Death without causing harm

Workshops:

  • Deprivation & Ethnicity - Understanding cultural differences & risks involved
  • Understanding complex grief after SUDI
  • Vicarious Trauma & Staff Wellbeing
  • NCMD Implementation
  • Understanding Post-Mortem results
  • Managing Suspected Overlay Deaths

£170.00* to attend one day (£185 from 1st July 2025)

£250* to attend both days (£295 from 1st July 2025)
