About this Event
Be inspired through an afternoon focused on STEM in ECE. The programme will include opportunities to:
· Explore MOTAT and its new Science & Technology Centre, Te Puawānanga
· Visit Te Tumu, the gallery for ECE, and hear about the stories and Mātauranga Māori embedded in its design
· Learn about the ECE focused programmes and resources on offer through MOTAT (a charitable trust)
· Participate hands-on in a STEM workshop
· Listen to Keynote Speakers from MOTAT and TENZ (Technology Education NZ).
· Network with other ECE services and ATs
· Be in to win a STEM prize for your ECE service
Keynote Speaker: Melissa Hodson
Melissa Hodson is the Lead Educator ECE at MOTAT. In her keynote, she will provide an overview of the programmes and resources MOTAT can offer ECE services.
Keynote Speaker: Ruth Lemon
Ruth Lemon is an experienced primary and ECE educator and a TENZ kaiārahi. Her PhD on hangarau is currently under examination. In her keynote, Ruth will focus on the Te Whāriki strand of Mana Aotūroa | Exploration and its links to the hangarau and technology curricula.
