Summary:

Building application security (AppSec) into your organisation’s software development and management practices can be a daunting task. There are myriad elements to consider: organisation structure, business domain, compliance requirements, stakeholder priorities, technology stacks, tools and processes, and more.

Implementing a comprehensive software assurance programme offers significant benefits for the organisation, but doing so without a good framework can yield only marginal and unsustainable improvements. The OWASP Software Assurance Maturity Model (SAMM) provides a structured, measurable framework for assessing the current maturity of your AppSec programme and formulate the roadmap for improvement, tailored to your organisation’s risk profile and priorities.

During the session, we’ll cover: overview of the model, its background and motivations; review of the model’s structure, including the Activities comprising each of its five Business Functions; how to structure, scope, and perform your baseline assessment; and how to develop your improvement roadmap and track progress.

From the third Thursday of each month, we’ve scheduled offerings of our classes, for which all are invited to register on a first-in, first-served basis. Each class session is limited to 30 participants, so be sure to register early to secure your seats.
