Be inspired by 15 amazing returning citizens pitching their businesses to win up to $10,000 each as a part of DSLBD's Aspire Pitch
About this Event

Aspire to Entrepreneurship (Aspire) empowers returning citizens to build and scale their own businesses, through cohort-based training for both aspiring entrepreneurs and established businesses. Aspire is facilitated by the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD, @SmallBizDC), along with our partners, the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization (MHCDO, @MHCDO). Over the twelve weeks of the program, participants have gained essential business skills and have built strong business pitches.

We are thrilled this year to partner with DC Public Library for Aspire Pitch 2022 -- a pitch competition for qualifying Aspire 2022 entrepreneurs to compete for prizes of $10,000 plus in-kind support. They'll also get essential feedback from judges, resource partners, and the community, plus a chance to highlight their business to the entire District of Columbia! Every participant in Aspire 2022 will win at least $2,000 to grow their business or business idea, and DSLBD plans to award several $10,000 prizes for Aspire Pitch top prize winners.

Join us on August 27th at the MLK Library at 901 G St NW to hear the Aspire 2022 finalists and to celebrate our returning citizen entrepreneurs. Aspire alumni will showcase their products and businesses in a business showcase.

Masks are required for all attendees throughout the duration of Aspire Pitch. Aspire participants pitching will be unmasked while pitching.
