I would like to invite all ASP VIC State Members and friends to our Winter Social & ‘Lightning Talks’ Event. This social networking event will be at The Castle Hotel (56 Courtney St, North Melbourne VIC 3051) on Thursday 27th of June from 5:30pm onwards. The event will be held in the Sports Room (see signage on the day).
A key part of this event will be an hour of ‘lightning talks’. State members will have the opportunity to present a brief (~3 min) overview of their research over the mic, alongside a single PowerPoint slide to aid them with their presentation. These ‘lightning talks’ will occur back-to-back and give everyone a snapshot of the research conducted by our Victorian State members. They can act as a springboard for conversations and collaborations, whilst also giving everyone an opportunity to practice their public speaking and science communication skills in an informal setting. Honours, Masters and PhD students are particularly encouraged to participate. Talks will commence at 6pm. If you would like to give a ‘lightning talk’ please RSVP by email to Lucas with your name and talk title.
There will be some free beverages (soft drinks, beer, and wine).

We also encourage current Victorian ASP Members to bring along prospective members who may be interested in hearing about all the great work the ASP conducts and may be interested in joining.
