Meeting Summary:

Gas turbine is one of the major innovations of the 20th century which has provided society the fastest mode of transportation and one of the cleanest and most thermally efficient means of producing electrical, mechanical, and propulsive power among many other benefits. It is the only power generating machine having the capability to operate with a wide variety of fuels. This presentation discusses the progress attained in gas turbine technology over more than 100 years from the perspective of various applications broadly classified into three major categories: aviation, industrial, and marine.

This presentation is expected to provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of the technological achievements attained in the field of gas turbines used for aviation, industrial, and marine applications. In the ongoing climate change discussion, gas turbine technology is expected to play an important role in mitigating global warming impacts in coming years. The presentation is summarized by lessons learnt and future needs of gas turbines and related technologies.
