ASL Interpretation at Intrepid Museum Kids Week
Join us for Kids Week, where children of all ages can explore the world of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) through a range of thrilling activities! Explore engaging displays and exhibits, witness captivating live animal shows, participate in hands-on workshops, enjoy performances by special guests and experience interactive demonstrations designed to educate and ignite curiosity.
Families and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to attend Intrepid Museum Kids Week for free on February 15, 18 and 21! American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided for demonstrations, workshops and performances throughout each day. Advance registration is required for free admission.

FAQs
What if I am not deaf or hard of hearing?
Kids Week is open to all visitors with general admission tickets. You can learn more about public Kids Week programming and purchase tickets visiting the Kids Week page.
Intrepid Museum members also have access to behind-the-scenes opportunities and priority lines. Learn more about becoming a member by visiting the Membership page.
Can ASL students register?
Students learning American Sign Language are welcome to attend any of our ASL-interpreted Kids Week programming but are not eligible for this free admission.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please visit our Visitor Information page for directions. There is no parking available at the Museum.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but if you can bring a paper or digital copy of your ticket it expedites the check-in process!

Info: Launching a space shuttle takes some science, engineering, and a whole lot of rocket fuel. Explore how space shuttles got into space and, more importantly, how they got astronauts home safely, during this interactive demonstration.

Astronaut Talk: Jasmin Moghbeli
Info: Hear from NASA Astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli about her time in space! Moghbeli was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2017 and launched to the International Space Station as Commander of NASAโs SpaceX Crew-7 mission on August 26, 2023. There, she spent over six months conducting experiments, including a spacewalk to service the ISSโs solar array rotation system. Moghbeli is a New York native who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with Information Technology at MIT, and a Master of Science in Engineering Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.

WonderSpark Puppet Show
Info: The Case of the Missing Creature. There's a creature on the loose, and it's up to our hero to find it. Join detective Mystery Max as he searches for clues to find the missing creature, a real life animal with amazing characteristics! The audience will sing songs and call out to help Max find the missing creature and solve the case. Along the way we'll learn about the scientific method and everyone will laugh along with this traditional hand puppet show.
