About this Event

Do you like craft chocolate? What about championing middle & high school girls across Texas? Then this is an evening for you! Spend an hour tasting a variety of small batch chocolate bars, with a glass of sparkling, from the chocolate makers themselves– all while benefiting a nonprofit that serves middle & high school girls across Texas by giving them the tools they need to thrive.

Askinosie Chocolate is an award-winning bean to bar chocolate manufacturer, with accolades from Bon Appetit to the New York Times, known for pioneering Direct Trade in the chocolate industry. Join the father + daughter team as they walk you through how to taste chocolate like a pro, while sharing about their 75-step chocolate making process and how they source cocoa beans from farmers across the globe, share profits, and partner with them in community development initiatives.

100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to Girls Empowerment Network. Many thanks to Antonelli’s Cheese for generously hosting this event.

About Askinosie Chocolate

Askinosie Chocolate is a small-batch craft chocolate factory based in southwest MO with 60+ international awards that makes single origin dark, milk and white chocolate bars. They've been named by Forbes as "One of the 25 Best Small Companies in America" and made the Food & Wine list of "25 Game Changing Companies Changing the Culinary World For the Better." They travel to Ecuador, the Amazon, Tanzania, and the Philippines to work directly with smallholder cocoa farmers and source premium cocoa beans. Askinosie is proud to be the only chocolate maker to work directly with woman-led farmer groups, share profits with them and partner with them on community development initiatives in a process they call Direct Trade. To date, they’ve paid over $1.4m directly to cocoa farmers, and set the industry standard for transparency, traceability and sustainability in the chocolate industry. Shawn Askinosie, Founder & CEO, is a Tedx speaker and author–along with his daughter, Lawren, CMO and co-owner–of the book Meaningful Work. Together with their team of twenty-five at their small factory in southwest MO, they see their mission as making chocolate that tastes good and does good too.
