"Ask the Expert" is a monthly event (every third Friday) during 2025. We will have an expert on Sewing, Scrapbooking, Cross-stitching, Needlepoint, Using the Cricut, Buttons, etc. August's topic is Quilting with Phyllis.
Phyllis started quilting around 1980 when she was living in the San Francisco Bay Area. While her mother was an avid quilter, she did not take it up until a friend invited her to attend a class with her. She was hooked!! Her favorite parts of the process are planning the quilt, choosing the fabrics and piecing the top together. She has not yet mastered the process of finishing the tops therefore she has quite a "few" unquilted! She's getting braver, and with the assistance of her machine quilter she's making headway on finishing projects. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and has taught a few classes over the years. Her goals now are to continue finishing existing tops and work at reducing her fabric stash.
