Listen, there is no one on planet earth that doesn’t need a place to live. A place to call home. A place to feel, “this is my safe haven,” which is why purchasing a first home is a major event before or after having a first child. Purchasing a first home event has a lot of moving parts to getting it done and can be a very emotional experience if buyers are not prepared for the event.
There a many people (real estate agent, mortgage banker and underwriters, 3-4 home inspectors etc.), involved in the process of buying your first home and you are most likely not to have a personal relationship with the majority of them. You will have met them via the internet or by way of a referral if you already know someone that has purchased a home.
In addition to many people being involved in the process there is a huge amount of information that requires a time-sensitive response from you while simultaneously negotiating the terms and conditions of a contract on a home you are emotionally invested. First time home buyers tend to depend heavily on their agents to help them make the right decisions around purchasing a home because they feel anxious about not making the wrong decisions. After all, “you don’t know what you don’t know,” is how many FTHBs feel. This is why I am re-launching my “Ask Me Any Real Estate Question” Seminar, an in-person event as a great way for FTHBs to start their home buying process' in a safe place and with a real estate expert with over 19 years of experience.
