Join Alison from Treats., a burnout recovery community, and Lincoln Ellis, Esq., for an afternoon that mixes learning, laughter, and a little bit of legal know-how. We’ll explore the history of work in the U.S., reimagine the future of the workplace, learn what you’re actually owed when you need a break (think PTO and sabbaticals), and what to do when things go off the rails (retaliation, forced resignation etc.) Expect relaxed conversation, fun scenario roleplay, and plenty of time for your questions. Reclaim some agency, refresh your confidence, and walk into the week feeling lighter and more empowered. All supplies included, come as you are with ideas and an open mind!

Lincoln Ellis is a Santa Monica-based lawyer who primarily represents plaintiffs who are suing their former employers. He often helps employees navigate workplace disputes and remain on good terms with their employer. But if that fails, he enjoys taking cases to trial. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, performing stand-up comedy, and brainstorming startup ideas.
Alison Griffin is a lifelong creative with over ten years of experience as a television and marketing producer. She is well-versed in the art of visual storytelling and passionate about pulling human essence to the forefront.
Inspired by that ever-present fascination and her own experience with burnout, Alison created Treats., a burnout recovery community that provides working folks the time, space, and inspiration to curate their own self-care routines. She is a fierce defender of personal power and believes a community of individuals functioning at their best leads to a society functioning at its best. Her advocacy work has led to powerful partnerships with a number of local organizations, including WalkGood LA, the LA Public Library, and CAAM.
