About the courseCatholicCare is an accredited provider of LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). A two-day in-person workshop where you’ll learn how to recognise when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how to recognise when someone may be thinking about suicide, how to offer a skilled and compassionate intervention in the moment of need, and how to work together to create a safety plan that connects them with ongoing support. The training also explores how personal and community attitudes toward suicide can influence help‑seeking and your ability to support someone, while strengthening your own willingness, confidence, and capability to provide suicide first aid.
Who is it for?
It is ideal for caregivers, educators, first responders, community members, and workplace staff seeking to recognize, talk to, and support people at risk of suicide.
