About this Event
In This Training You Will:
- Learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.
- Consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.
- Increase your willingness, confidence, and capacity to provide suicide first aid.
The training is two full days. You must register to attend and plan to attend both days in full to become certified. If you are not able to attend both days in full, please reconsider registering as there are limited seats available.
Training is being provided for free to our community by the Tillamook County Suicide Prevention Coalition as part of our grant from the Oregon Alliance to Prevent Suicide, as well as the generosity of our trainers offering their time and skills.
Snacks and beverages will be provided. We will break for lunch and you will be on your own.
