🎟️ Free | All agesIn the culmination of her Exhibition Artist Residency, join Ashwini Bhat for an interactive performance of The Earth Under Our Feet. Inspired by the symbols of mandala and spiral, Bhat will create an ephemeral installation in the Arts Center Atrium with red clay.
The title of the performance comes from the notebooks of American Objectivist poet George Oppen, who wrote: “The earth under our feet; we are not asked to begin nowhere.” Visitors are invited to join the artist in shaping the clay using the traditional practice of foot wedging, considering their own relationship to the earth beneath them.
