Ashton began his career as a child Blugrass picker, but grew up to pursue a Jazz education at Appalachian State and then professional experience in the Nashville Country scene. After spending several years performing in the Mountain West, Ashton has arrived at a sound which is sophisticated, yet soulful- rockin', yet reminiscent of his Appalachian upbringing.
