Join us for an Intermediate Ashtanga Yoga experience at The Uncommon Ranch with certified licensed instructor, Jessica.
A Grounding Practice for All Levels
The Primary Series, known as Yoga Chikitsa “Yoga Therapy” is the foundation of the Ashtanga tradition.
This sequence focuses on cleansing and strengthening the body through breath-linked movement (vinyasa), building internal heat, and developing focus and stability.
Our classes are accessible to both dedicated beginners and experienced practitioners, offering thoughtful guidance, modifications, and mindful pacing. Each session invites you to explore your edge safely and with curiosity and blends breath, movement, and mindfulness into a seamless flow, inviting you to challenge your body while calming your mind.
Class held in our newest venue, The Retreat, with a complimentary introduction to Aromatherapy
Enjoy your walk through The Uncommon Art Studio on the way to our newly designed retreat wellness studio, a warm, tranquil space infused with the soothing scent of natural essential oils and lavender aromatherapy.
Soft lighting, calming music, and a gentle fragrance fill the air to help you settle deeply into your breath and movement.
The space was thoughtfully created to promote relaxation, grounding, and sensory harmony, making your practice both restorative and energizing.
Whether it’s a rainy morning or a quiet evening session, practicing indoors allows you to experience all the benefits of Ashtanga in a peaceful, temperature-controlled sanctuary — a perfect balance of comfort and focus.
Experience yoga as it was meant to be - rooted in the earth, elevated by breath, and infused with peace.
What to Expect
Jessica will guide each class with care and intention, following the traditional Ashtanga flow:
Opening & Centering – Begin with mindful breathing and a moment to arrive fully in your body.
Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara A & B) – Build warmth, rhythm, and awareness through synchronized movement and breath.
Standing Sequence – Strengthen your foundation, improve balance, and open the body.
Seated Postures – Stretch and stabilize through forward folds, twists, and gentle hip openers.
Finishing Sequence – Integrate your practice with calming inversions, backbends, and a restorative Savasana followed by seated meditation.
Throughout class, you’ll focus on ujjayi breath, bandhas (energy locks), and drishti (gaze points) - the three pillars that bring focus, strength, and flow to Ashtanga yoga.
What to Bring
Please bring your own yoga mat, water, and any props you prefer (block, strap, or blanket for warmth).
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing, and come ready to move, breathe, and explore your body.
The Experience
This is more than a yoga class — it’s a sensory renewal. Expect to leave feeling centered, clear, and rejuvenated, with body and mind harmonized by the energy of the earth. Each class concludes with a guided meditation enhanced by aromatherapy, allowing students to fully unwind, integrate their practice, and leave with a renewed sense of clarity, calm, and well-being.
