Ashtanga, Yin and Sound Meditation Winter Retreatwith Raili Maripuu and Lorena Rodrigo

We are so excited to announce this unique collaboration between the two experienced Yoga Reading teachers – the amazing and talented Lorena Rodrigo and our own teacher Raili Maripuu.
In February 2025, Lorena and Raili will be running a 4-day yoga retreat in Estonia, to kickstart the year in an amazing winter wonderland setting. The focus of this retreat to combine the feminine yin and masculine yang energies and find the balance of both, in our bodies and minds. This retreat will offer a combination of ashtanga and yin yoga practises with deeply relaxing sound journeys.
The retreat will also include a taster class of Anusara yoga, focusing on alignment, heart opening and spiritual aspects of hatha yoga.
The retreat will take place in wonderfully spiritual Estonia that in February is usually immersed in snow, making it a perfect location to find some harmony and balance in our busy lives. The exact retreat location will be confirmed closer to the time and will be dependent on the number of students, taking place either in Tallinn or in a suitable venue in the countryside.
The dates of this 4-day yoga retreat are 6 – 9 February 2025. More details about the retreat will follow very soon. Until then, please save the dates in your calendar.
For our students in the UK, we will also be running a Retreat Taster Day on Sunday, 1 December 2024. This is a half day event that introduces our collaboration and the retreat, includes an ashtanga yoga class, a mini sound journey and a delicious brunch. The Taster Day event will take place at Raili’s own shala in Reading, the details of which will be shared to all attending participants. The Taster Day is open to all interested yogis and does not require a commitment to attend the retreat.

TEACHERS
Lorena Rodrigo has been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 2015. She originally trained in Ashtanga yoga and then moved onto the Anusara lineage. Lorena is a Sacred Sounds certified sound meditation practitioner and an Anusara, Yin, Pregnancy, Restorative Yoga teacher and a Reiki Master based in Reading, UK. She loves creating safe spaces for people to relax and reconnect deeply with their bodies and minds through meditation, breathwork and sound. Her sessions are calming, relaxing and nurturing, giving you an opportunity to explore yourself in a deeper level of consciousness. She uses gongs, crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, shamanic drums, rain sticks and a whole array of sacred instruments, all perfectly tuned to send you into a state of pure bliss.
Raili Maripuu has been practising yoga for 20 years and started her daily ashtanga yoga practise in 2009. Her main teachers are Lino Miele (Italy) and Hamish Hendry (UK). Raili set up her own shala ‘Ashtanga Estonia’ in Tallinn, Estonia in 2016 and has been teaching ashtanga yoga for 8 years. In the UK, she teaches regular weekly classes at Yoga Reading. She is also one of Lino’s ‘Recognised Teachers’. Raili is an entrepreneur and a former dancer practising ashtanga yoga 5-6x a week and teaching weekly in Estonia and the UK as well as assisting Lino in India and Italy.
