Cape Breton fiddler sensation and storyteller Ashley MacIsaac is joined by Canada’s queen of R&B, Jully Black, for this powerful evening of Canadian roots music.
Ashley MacIsaac plays the fiddle with an intensity, authenticity, and passion that is hard to deny. He learned his chops at an early age, mentored by some of the legendary greats of the area, performing all over the island in halls, clubs, barns, and kitchens. Hi How Are You was released in the mid 1990s and the accolades rolled in, as well as the awards, the touring, the interviews, and appearances. The persona took shape and the legend took hold.
Jully Black is a true Canadian icon. Named as one of the 25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever by CBC Music, she has been dubbed Canada’s Queen of R&B Soul by her fans and peers. As a platinum-selling recording artist, her music career has yielded multiple singles reaching the Top 10 pop, R&B, and dance music charts. She has taken home multiple Juno Awards, earned many industry accolades, and was hand selected to sing for the Queen of England.
