On Friday 20 February 2026 Ashley Grove will be talking to us on the subject of Crane Spotting.Ashley is a very interesting and entertaining speaker and his talk will be about the Lake Hornborga area of Sweden, which plays host to one of the most incredible bird spectacle to be seen in Europe, with over 25,000 common cranes stopping to feed on their journey north. The talk includes other wildlife that makes this area so special to visit in the spring, including all five European grebe species, the white-tailed eagle, hawfinch and capercaillie.
Please join us at the Leicester Bowling Club, Kenwood Rd, off Carisbrooke Road, Leicester LE2 3PL at 7.30pm.
Meetings cost £5 per person to cover the cost of hall hire.
Tea and coffee are available in the interval and we aim to finish at about 9.30pm.
