CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
? Kindermusik with Yvette: Musical parenting with your infant. In this 45 minute class Kindermusik educator, Yvette Odell, will share with you and your baby songs, movement and ways to interact and bond with your baby using music. Your baby is born musical and is naturally tuned into sounds for learning language and about their world. Music is calming, entertaining, stimulating, soothing…. It’s more than just Twinkle Twinkle!
? Babywearing Workshop: In this class Lyndsi Devito, Certified Babywearing Consultant and owner of The Littlest Birds, will cover all different types of carriers as well as safe babywearing practices and techniques.
? Babywearing Dance Class: Wear your baby or bring your toddler while you groove to some music and share some laughs in a comfortable, indoor space. Led by mom, dancer, and physical therapist Laura Scott. No experience or dance skills necessary- this is just for fun! Moms, dads, and all caregivers are welcome!
* Please bring any carrier of your choice for the dance class. If you do not own a carrier and cannot borrow one- we will try to have some extras on hand!
? For older siblings, there will be face painting, a bouncy house, and a playground. All ages are welcome!
? The gathering will close with a short community walk to promote awareness about perinatal mental health. Survivors of postpartum mood disorders and local perinatal care providers are also encouraged to join!
This event is organized by the local affiliate of Postpartum Support International, a non-profit that provides peer support and education to help new parents. The Climb community walk happens throughout the US to create connections and raise awareness for perinatal mood disorders.
