MR JIMMY is the solo project of guitarist / vocalist / songwriter, Jim “Ang” Anderson, who has fronted The Chicago Kingsnakes Blues band for 35 years, to date performing over 4000 shows.
MR JIMMY writes, sings and plays real-deal Blues, Chicago style. A lifelong resident of the city’s infamous South Side, he has shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Little Milton, James Cotton, Junior Wells, Lefty Dizz, Jimmy Dawkins, Johnny Twist, and the list goes on…
In 2024 Mr Jimmy was voted one of the Best Blues Performers by the readers of Asheville’s Mountain Xpress newspaper for the third year in a row in the Best of WNC Awards
MR JIMMY has released 10 albums of original music with the Chicago Kingsnakes and is pleased to announce the debut of his new solo release “All Alone With the Blues” in July 2020.
MR JIMMY produced and hosted an NPR radio show “Confessin’ The Blues” where he interviewed and performed with many Blues artists.
In 2018, Mr Jimmy moved to Asheville, NC to embark on his solo career.
