The City of Hendersonville will soon begin construction of the Ashe Street Neighborhood and 4th Avenue Water and Sewer Replacement project. This project will replace and rehabilitate aging water and sewer infrastructure, some of which has been in operation for over 100 years. (This project has been in the works for a while and is not related to Tropical Storm Helene.)Neighborhood residents and businesses are invited to a drop-in meeting at the Historic Train Depot (650 Maple Street) on Wed. Nov. 6th from 5 PM - 7 PM to learn about the project and ask questions.
This construction project will involve water main and sanitary sewer main replacement and rehabilitation in the following areas:
-7th Avenue from Boxcar Street to Elm Street (Ashe Street Neighborhood)
-4th Avenue from North Pine Street to Williams Street
-Williams Street from 4th Avenue to 1st Avenue
While this construction project will improve our water and sewer systems, there will be brief interruptions to water and sewer services as connections are made to the new infrastructure. During construction roadway lane closures may occur specifically in areas of open trench construction. Currently, full street closures are not anticipated in the project area.
