Ashbourne Town Council is asking for nominations for a child to switch on the Christmas lights and light up the magnificent Christmas tree on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. The event will take place at The Market Place at 5:30 pm. The winner will be drawn live on Facebook on October 15th, 2024, and will be invited to meet the Mayor and local dignitaries, along with three members of their family, to enjoy refreshments in The Town Hall. Nominations can be made by completing a slip which can be picked up at the Ashbourne Historical Centre, Mon-Fri 10:00-3:00 pm, and posting it into a sealed box. The last date for nominations is Saturday, October 12th at 12:00 pm. The Mayor, Cllr Sandra Spencer, will pull one lucky winner from the box on Tuesday, October 15th, just before the Council meeting.
