Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is the 40-day period of reflection, prayer, and self-examination leading up to Easter where Christians traditionally prepare for the celebration of Jesus' resurrection through practices like fasting and acts of charity; it's considered a time for repentance and spiritual renewal.During the 6 pm worship service in the chapel, all will receive the imposition of ashes where we mark the sign of the cross on foreheads to symbolize our mortality and that in life and in death, we belong to God. For those who are unable to attend the 6 pm worship service on March 5, we will provide a chance for people to receive ashes prior to the work day. Ashes-to-go will be available from 7-9 am that morning near the Blessing Box.
