Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten journey, a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. Worship on March 5 at Noon (in-person) or 7:00 PM (in-person and online), both with the imposition of ashes.
The theme for this season is "What Does the Lord Require?" and Ash Wednesday begins with a call to compassion. Isaiah 58 challenges the idea of fasting as simply giving something up. Instead, the passage calls for action—sharing bread with the hungry, sheltering those struggling with homelessness, and clothing those in need. What if this is the fast God desires? What if living with compassion could make light break forth like the dawn? This season of Lent is an invitation to find out.
