Our Ash Wednesday service will be a brief service to encourage spiritual renewal followed by the applying of ashes.Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Season of Lent. During this season we commemorate the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert and enduring temptation by Satan at the beginning of His earthly ministry.
For many Christians, this is a season of spiritual strengthening and renewal as we approach the holy days commemorating the death, burial and resurrection of the Christ. Many choose to fast and spend special time in prayer during this season. However you celebrate this time it is a time of reflection.
