Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday) and invites us into a time of reflection about Jesus’ journey to the cross. On Wednesday, February 18, Mission Valley will host an intentional and reflective Ash Wednesday experience in our Worship Center (D Building) on campus.
Through a silent, self-guided prayer walk, you can expect to:
>>> Read descriptions of Jesus’ experience from the Bible
>>> Behold depictions through original artwork
>>> Speak to God through prayer
>>> Respond through personal reflection
Doors will be open from 6 to 7:30 PM, so you can choose the time that works best for your schedule and go through the stations at your own pace. We anticipate it takes approximately 30-45 minutes to go through all the stations.
Nursery, Preschool, and Lower Elementary classrooms will be open in Kids Ministry this evening. (For those serving in Kids Ministry that night, the prayer walk stations will be available starting at 5 PM for you to experience.)
We hope this evening will give you space to sit in remembrance of Jesus’ crucifixion, reflecting on the events in a unique and meaningful way, so that we can proclaim Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.
