✝️ Ash Wednesday Mass and Distribution of Ashes | February 18, 2026On Ash Wednesday we come forward to receive ashes and a prayer quietly recited over each person:
“Repent, and believe in the Gospel,”
or
“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
These sacred words remind us who we are and whose we are. The ashes—made from last year’s blessed palms—mark the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that leads us to the joy of Easter.
Ash Wednesday is not about guilt—it is about grace. It is a moment to pause, to turn our hearts back to God, and to begin again.
