Lent begins with a solemn reminder of whose we are and who we will return to as we begin our journey to the baptismal waters of Easter. The sign of ashes suggests our human mortality and frailty. What seems like an ending is really an invitation to make each day a new beginning, in which we are washed in God’s mercy and forgiveness. You are invited to begin your Lenten journey with prayer, worship, and fellowship at Christ the Servant. The sanctuary will be open from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM for prayer and individual reflection. There will be candles that can be lit in remembrance of loved ones or lifted up as prayers to God. Pastor Kenny will be on the plaza during this time providing ashes and prayer to anyone who wishes to receive them.
There will be a dinner served at 6:30 PM followed by a full Ash Wednesday Service that will begin at 7 PM which will also be livestreamed. We hope you will be able to participate in some or all of this holy day.
