On behalf of Asialink Business and Investment NSW, you are invited to join the event ‘ASEAN Growth: ASEAN Market Update for Wollongong Businesses’, featuring an address by the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong MP, NSW Minister for Industry and Trade.
The ASEAN region is projected to become the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2040, driven by rising incomes, urbanisation, and digital adoption. This event will highlight the significant growth opportunities for Wollongong businesses in Southeast Asia. With a focus on the food, beverage, technology and industrial sectors, this event will offer valuable insights on how NSW businesses can capitalise on these dynamic markets to expand and diversify their exports.
The event is part of the ‘ASEAN Market Update for NSW Businesses’ series, providing businesses with key market trends, sector-specific opportunities, and expert insights on the practicalities of doing business in the region. Participants will hear firsthand from businesses who have successfully expanded into the ASEAN region.

The Hon Anoulack Chanthivong MP, Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, Minister for Corrections
After moving to Australia from Laos with his parents and brothers when he was just six, Anoulack attended Robert Townson Primary and Robert Townson High School in Raby.
Before entering Parliament, Anoulack worked as an economist for 13 years and served as a councillor and later as mayor on Campbelltown City Council.
After his election as Member for Macquarie Fields in 2015, he served as Shadow Minister for Finance and Shadow Minister for Industry and Trade between 2021 and 2022.
Following the election of the Minns Labor Government in March 2023, Anoulack was appointed Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building and Minister for Corrections.
Emma Lo Russo, CEO, Digivizer
Emma Lo Russo is CEO of Digivizer, Australiaʼs global digital marketing technology and activations company, which she co-founded in 2010. Emma is also CEO of goto.game, a leading data-driven agency and destination for all things gaming and esports, which she founded in 2017.
Across both companies Emma employs 50+ people in Australia and Asia, serving some of the largest global brands, and offering a SaaS solution for businesses of all sizes to take advantage of affordable digital marketing insights.
Emma is the winner of a number of industry awards, recognizing her contributions to business, innovation and leadership. She is a recipient of the AGSM Anita Prabhu Women Leaders in Business Award for entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and business acumen, was awarded the Pearcey Foundation Tech Entrepreneur of the Year Award for NSW in 2016, won the ACS CXO Disruptor of the Year Award in 2018 and an ACS award for Thought Leadership in 2019, and won Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2022 ARN Women in ICT Awards. In 2023 she was appointed to the Financy Advisory Board.
Leigh Howard, CEO, Asialink Business
Leigh Howard is the CEO of Asialink Business, Australia’s National Centre for Asia Capability, and one of Australia’s leading voices on international business. A passionate advocate for Australian business success in Asian markets, Leigh spent 20 years in Asia as a corporate leader and entrepreneur.
Leigh previously held senior executive roles with digital giant TradingPost.com and ASX-listed staffing company Talent2. He also served as Victoria's Deputy Commissioner to Southeast Asia. Leigh actively contributes to organisations shaping Australia-Asia business relations, including as a Founding Board Director of AustCham ASEAN, Advisory Board Member for the Australia-Vietnam Policy Institute and ex-Chair of the Malaysia Australia Business Council. Globally recognised, Leigh was invited to join the B20 Taskforce for Digital Transformation in 2023 and again in 2024.
