About this Event
The ASCN: Calgary Hub is thrilled to invite practitioners and enthusiasts to this workshop, which aims to create a space to connect and learn about Art for Social Change in Action.
Join us for an inspiring evening with Jenn Seniuk. Jenn is a Calgarian Art Therapist, Counsellor, Podcast Host and founder of the My Friend Dave Project. She works primarily with men both in individual art therapy sessions and through The My Friend Dave Project. She supports men in understanding shame, healing trauma and supporting them in telling their stories through creative expression. Jenn is also renovating a school bus named Thelma where she plans to travel, live and work in, bringing Art Therapy to small communities around North America.
Our time together will be a fun, playful evening of hands-on learning. As social justice advocates we hold a lot of emotional space for others. While that is an incredible gift, in order to do this work well, and without burnout we must also take time for ourselves first! How do we ensure we are well grounded, supported and holding space for ourselves? This evening together will provide simple hands-on tools on how we can use art to slow down, recharge and also create special spaces for ourselves.
Light snacks and complimentary soft drinks will be served.
Registration is required as capacity is limited. This event will be held at The Alcove Centre for the Arts. Find more parking and transit information below.
This event is hosted by ASCN: Calgary Hub, an initiative by Trico Changemakers Studio and Calgary Arts Development.
