The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library will host the Asa G. Hilliard, III Symposium: "Return to the Source," on Thursday, September 22, and Friday, September 23, 2022. Dr. Hilliard was held in highest regard both nationally and internationally as an exceptional educator, psychologist, and historian. His work and leadership reflected his deep concern for the underserved, undereducated and underrepresented people around the world. The AUC Woodruff Library's Archives Research Center is the proud repository of his archival collection - The Asa G. Hilliard, III Papers.
We are pleased to announce the Honorary Co-Chairs for the 2022 Hilliard Symposium: Honorable Patsy Jo Hilliard and Dr. Wade Nobles. Other confirmed speakers include: Dr. Iva Carruthers, Dr. Joyce King, Dr. Mario Beatty, Dr. Akinyele Umoja, Dr. Daniel Omotosho Black, Dr. Madge Esi Willis, and Dr. Itihari Toure. A detailed Symposium schedule will be posted in mid-August.
