ARTVARK is a night celebrating our favourite local visual artists by hosting an exhibition of their works on the walls of The Aardvark for a whole month.Each month we'll be throwing a party to launch the exhibition, featuring live performances by local bands hand-picked by the featured artist!
Our artist for September is the very talented CASSEY HUTTON (AKA Normal Is Me), an Indigenous artist who is exploring her culture and connection to Country through her contemporary paintings.
Her works will on display on the walls of The Aardvark for the entire month, and will be available for purchase on the door. Don't leave without taking home a piece of her extraordinary and unique work, whether you're a serious collector or just getting started.
Cassey has curated a sensational lineup to launch her exhibition, featuring:

Cassey is a proud Kaniyang woman who, due to family violence, has experienced separation and disconnection from heritage. Painting became a way to express the personal and shared journey of reconnecting back to Whadjuk Country and finding strength.
Cassey’s art explores reconnection after the effects and generational traumas of colonization. As well as the beauty of nature, working together and the importance of Country and culture.
'The Extent of Being" is Cassey's first solo exhibition, and explores Cassey's journey in art and life.
