A Landmark Night of Jazz

Few artists embody the brilliance and spirit of jazz like Arturo Sandoval. A protégé of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie and a true virtuoso of the trumpet Sandoval has thrilled audiences around the world with a sound that is both technically dazzling and deeply expressive. Fusing bebop Afro-Cuban rhythms and his own boundless imagination he has built a career that spans decades and has earned him multiple Grammy Awards an Emmy and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“Born into poverty in Cuba and held back by his government he risked everything to share his gifts with the world. In the decades since this astonishing trumpeter pianist and composer has inspired audiences in every corner of the world and awakened a new generation of great performers. He remains one of the best ever to play.” ~ President Barack Obama

For longtime jazz enthusiasts Sandoval’s return is a rare and eagerly anticipated event. Known for performances that balance breathtaking command with emotional fire Sandoval remains at the height of his powers—bringing audiences not only the brilliance of his horn but also his skill as a pianist composer and educator.

This appearance at the HOPE Center offers the chance to hear a living legend in a room imagined for jazz lovers—combining the intimacy of a New York City club with the grandeur of a state-of-the-art performing arts center. Designed to bring audiences closer to the music while surrounding them with exceptional acoustics and atmosphere the HOPE Theater is the perfect setting for Sandoval’s artistry. It promises an evening where every note resonates with immediacy elegance and the kind of connection that defines great jazz.
