Mythimo: Favourite Fairy Tales Reimagined Under the Sunlit Australian Skies, the latest body of work by artist Simo, is on display at the Maroochydore Library Artspace from January 12 to March 14.This magical, mythopoetic series reimagines beloved Western classics against the backdrop of Australia’s untamed wilderness—gums, mountain ash, eucalypt forests, and native fauna woven into stories that have enchanted generations.
Adding another layer of meaning, Simo collaborates with his mother, Jan, on a companion book that offers a modern psychological lens on these timeless tales—revealing their emotional resonance and relevance in today’s world.
