Biboye embraces the abstract essence of instrumental music to evoke ephemeral expressions that drift through the modern world. A world he sees as one built for speed, but rarely in service of the pace at which we can best love and be loved. Known for his immersive live performances that envelop audiences, his music is inspired by avant-jazz greats who meld genres, innovate sonically, and delve into deep emotions, like Ambrose Akinmusire, Jamire Williams, and Mikel Patrick Avery. Working with music from and inspired by the '60s spiritual-jazz era, Biboye, a MacEwan University graduate, shapes vivid, expressive sounds at the forefront of the global jazz community.
