Led by percussionist Bob Nowak, the six-member Anthracite Marimba will fill the Derry Church sanctuary with rich, mellow sound in their first Hershey concert appearance.Concert repertoire will include “Bolero,” selections from “Carmen,” March from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Joplin Rag Medley.”
Bob has played timpani on occasion for Sunday worship at Derry Church, and for the past 20 years it’s been an annual tradition to welcome his marimba ensemble in morning worship. Anthracite Marimba members include Cody Gemmel of Bethlehem, Travis Hicks of Newport, Tennessee, Corrine Houtz and James Weist of Ashland, and Michael Ryan of Pottstown.
