Explore literature surrounded by the arts. ArtREADS is the New Bedford Art Museum’s new book club where art, culture, and storytelling meet. Each gathering is inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions, inviting readers to immerse themselves in history, creativity, and conversation, all within the beauty of the gallery.
For our first meeting, we’ll discuss
Nothing More of This Land: Community, Power, and the Search for Indigenous Identity by Joseph Lee, a compelling book that explores identity, belonging, and community through the lens of Indigenous experience.
Together, we’ll reflect on the themes of The Shape of Who We Are and Wainer Woods: The Shape of Us, connecting what we read to what we see on the walls. It’s an evening of meaningful discussion, cultural exploration, and shared discovery.
