Join our “hop on, hop off” ArtMove on wheels down the "backbone" of Fife—on the epic Moffat & Williamson No. 64 bus.
About this Event

Whatever age you may be, we invite you to join a “hop on, hop off” experience on one of the wiggliest, rattliest routes in Fife—namely, aboard the epic Moffat & Williamson No. 64 bus that plies between St Andrews and Glenrothes, taking in 14 towns and villages along the way. Unfortunately, we won’t have time to stop in every place but we will be stepping off in…

Strathkinness for one hour, visiting one of Fife’s smallest arts venues: the 201 Telephone Gallery curated by Lada Wilson, looking at nature in the context of the village’s community garden with artist Kirsty Lockhart.

Back on the next 64 bus, we will enjoy specially designed bus-art activities by Kirsty, Lada, Kate Downie and Gillian McFarland.

Next stop, the beautiful village of Letham where we will be art-walking the woods, meeting local artists in their famous village hall, enjoying home-made soup and bread and participating in a mobile flora-phone ArtMove workshop before jumping back on the bus to

Pillars of Hercules near Falkland for our last stop, to learn a little about art in their organic vegetable gardens, and to enjoy cake, coffee and evaluation of our amazing journey across Fife.

Logistics:

Fees are inclusive of workshops, art materials and soup at lunch.

Participants are welcome to join the bus anywhere along the route from St Andrews to Falkland:

09.12 Depart South Street, St Andrews

09.33 Arrive Strathkinness

10.33 Depart Strathkinness

11.18 Arrive Letham Road End

14.16 Depart Letham Road End

14.54 Arrive Pillars of Hercules

Please arrange to arrive well in advance of advertised bus departure times. ArtMovesFife will not be responsible for missed connections.

For the full day out experience meet at the bus stop on South Street in St Andrews (next to the ruins of Blackfriars Chapel) in good time to catch the 9.12am bus!

At the end (approximately 4pm), participants have the option to carry on to Glenrothes and catch a faster bus back to their start point, or catch another 64 going back the way they came.

Car sharing to or from meeting points is encouraged.

Pre-event meeting/briefing (Zoom)
