Artists’ Row at our seasons’ grand opening Artists’ Row Market Day Launch Party!
On Saturday, May 4, 2024 Artists’ Row will come alive with activity! Starting at 10am visitors can meet local artists, see them in their natural habitat, participate in free hands-on art making activities, sign up for workshops, listen to some live tunes, grab a bite to eat and even do a bit of shopping! There is so much the shops on Artists’ Row have to offer!!

ChagallPAC is an interdisciplinary art studio & gallery space, where you can shop for art, handmade artisan crafts & jewelry, and even see live music! Featuring 15+ local artists, who run the shop! ChagallPAC features reiki-charged jewelry made with healing crystals, vintage and magical, handcrafted wire jewelry, hand-carved wooden sculptures, handmade wands, terrariums, original photographs, mosaics, mirrors, decorative items, curiosities, and objets d’art. -at 1pm get ready for a DerbyDay Hobby Horse Race on Artists’ Row! Broom sticks also allowed! We will race them down the row, starting at the Derby Square side of Artists’ Row and ending at ChagallPAC. MC’d by the swing band Annie & The Fur Trappers, they will play swing numbers between races to keep up the heartbeat!
Natural Dye Workshops by Robbersdaughter! 10am-12pm
This May celebrate the colors of spring at Robbersdaughter studio! Robbersdaughter is offering a four week workshop series exploring the art and techniques of natural dyeing. Each week, participants will practice a new method of natural dyeing and build upon these techniques to create colorful textiles that culminate in a naturally dyed table scape: table napkins, a table runner, and a tablecloth. All dyestuffs + textiles included. Pre-registration is required.

Artists’ Row is at the heart of the City, centrally located in historic downtown Salem at 24 New Derby St., across from Old Town Hall and Derby Square. It was originally built as a marketplace and continues to be a thriving public plaza and pedestrian way. Artists’ Row consists of four artist ‘stalls’, a restaurant, and a public restroom and The Artists’ Row Initiative is a seasonal program run by the City of Salem’s office of Arts & Culture that provides space for artists and artisans looking to build their audience and/or business through daily engagement with residents and visitors to Salem.
