New Mexico's reputation as a creative hub is well-known. But there is a growing artistic community in Southern New Mexico, which the New York Times has described as ‘an escape from the saturated art scene of Santa Fe.’
Sierra County is home to Spaceport America and the renowned painter Delmas Howe. Our county seat is the legendary Truth or Consequences, a hot springs town lined with galleries, vintage motels, and performance spaces. Every month the Art Hop Second Saturdays bring crowds with music, gallery openings, and after-parties.
The Artists of Sierra County Studio Tour is an invitation to the art-loving public. This free self-guided tour experience offers a glimpse beyond the galleries, into the actual working spaces of local artists. From unique home studios to a converted lumberyard - participants can expect to engage with artists in their own environments, be inspired, and take part in this exciting community.
