Death and the MaidenNew Orford String Quartet, consisting of Andrew Wan and Jonathan Crow (violins), Sharon Wei* (viola), and Brian Manker (cello) start the evening off with Mozart's unrelentingly dramatic K.421 quartet after which string performance students join in with the New Orford String Quartet for an electric performance of A Letter from the After-life by JUNO-winning composer Dinuk Wijeratne. Wijeratne’s work will thematically transition to the final programmed piece of the evening, Schubert's Death and the Maiden String Quartet as he includes recognizable quotes from Schubert’s chamber piece.
