Artistry Unleashed - Festive Calligraphy at Neptune Bury St Edmunds
Su - The Cambridge Calligrapher brings you a creative and relaxed morning of calligraphy, wellbeing and great company.
Learn the beautiful art of modern calligraphy with a Festive Theme.
There will be gift tags, wrapping paper, wax seals and a lovely introduction to modern calligraphy.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners so no experience is necessary. You will start by understanding the basics of how to use a dip pen and nib with simple exercises learning to create thick and thin strokes, then applying these techniques to working your way through the alphabet creating letterforms in calligraphy. You will then be guiding through letter joining and creating words in a modern calligraphy style with lots of guidance and demonstrations. The small group size will ensure you have lots of personal attention, fun and feel ready to create a beautiful poster, card or gift tags.
In the second part of the session you will apply your new skills to work on your chosen festive project using calligraphy ink. We will add embellishments, gilding paste, wax seals and gold foil to elevate your creation.
All materials are provided including a starter kit, nib, nib holder and ink which you will take home with you to continue your calligraphy practice.

Travel and Parking - If you drive, there is parking available at The Apex which is only a little stroll from the shop. The nearest train station is Bury St Edmunds. The number 16 bus serves the area or it is about a 20min walk.
Treats: Festive nibbles and drinks will be served at the event.
Classes are for adults only 18+
A Note on Cancellation and Refunds - Tickets are on refundable, but you can send a friend in your place to attend the workshop!
