About this Event

Lena and Lucie are artists and educators living in Somerville, MA. Collaborative picture making is a part of their relationship and intimacy. Breaking down boundaries between subject and maker, they explore the queer body in the landscape.
Lucie March (b. 1992) is an artist based in Somerville, MA. Working with the still and moving image, she makes work about geological time and memory and that feeling you get when you close your eyes and the sun comes through your eyelids. Lucie received her MFA in Photography from MassArt, and is the recipient of the 2023-2024 MassArt Postgraduate Teaching Fellowship. She teaches at Emerson College and co-creates the quarterly zine cul de sac.
Lena Warnke (b. 1992) is a bookmaker, photographer, and cognitive scientist based in Somerville, MA. She walks around, looks at things, and talks to her neighbors. Lena runs sidebody press, an independent publisher of zines and artist books. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Science and Psychology from Tufts University, where she is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar writing on language and the organization of social interaction.
