About this Event
As part of 'Breaking the Mold: Beyond 2D' the current group show at Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery, Jorge Nájera brings brand new wall installations in dynamic form inspired by his convex and concave wood works.
Nájera's work traverses the realms of the bi-dimensional and the three-dimensional, capturing the essence of natural phenomena and urban decay with equal finesse. His acrylic and oil paintings span a dynamic range serving as windows into both the tranquil and tumultuous natural phenomena, from serene, cloud-like vistas to the fervent energy of cosmic trails. This duality is a reflection of his inspiration drawn from the contrasts of Monterrey's mountains, Mexico City's textured urban canvas, and the serene yet powerful presence of Galveston Bay.
Since 2003, his innovative use of convex, concave and spherical wooden panels introduces a tactile dimension to his art. Nájera's creations are not just seen; they are felt, crafting a bridge between the viewer’s heart and the experience woven into each piece.
Join us on April 6 from 2 - 5PM.
