The artist talk will run for approximately 45mins and will include Taranaki artists, Jana Branca and Maryanne Shearman. Come along and meet them, ask questions and enjoy the 37 works - only chance to view this exhibition in Taranaki on its' nationwide tour.
[ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS]
- Jana Branca (New Plymouth), Finalist of Adam Portraiture Award;
- Maryanne Shearman (Oakura) Winner of Adam Portraiture Award 2024.
Both Taranaki artists live and work in the region. They will share their story as an artist and their experiences painting their original artworks, shortlisted for this years' most prestigious portrait award.
[ABOUT THE EXHIBITION]
The Adam Portraiture Award is Aotearoa’s most prestigious and popular portraiture prize.
The biennial competition for painted portraits is held at The New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata and generously sponsored by the Adam Foundation. The Adam Portraiture Award provides painters from Aotearoa at all stages of their careers with the opportunity to showcase their talents on the national stage, while also playing an important role in recording the changing face of Aotearoa.
