About this Event
Artist Suze Woolf has watched her local glaciers shrink, and burned-over forests increase over her lifetime. Yet, for all her distress, she also sees unusual beauty.
Join us on World Forestry Center’s Wildfire Preparedness Weekend for an artist talk and gallery tour with the visiting Seattle-based artist who created . On view now in the Discovery Museum’s art gallery until April 30th, her dimensional renderings of fire-carved snags bring into full color the detailed aftermath of wildfire.
After the artist talk, walk the gallery with the artist and learn about her process transferring her ideas from paintings to fabric. Read stories about each site she visited, written by her collaborator, author and wildland fire fighter, Lorena Williams. Engage in the crucial conversation that is wildfire.
Seats are limited, reserve your spot today.
World Forestry Center’s art gallery is located on the second floor of the Discovery Museum. It is a space where art, forests, and people meet. Seeking to amplify the voices of community members who are deepening their understanding of wildfire, we are proud to feature an exhibit that explores the relationship between art, forests, and human connection.
